Final First Friday to see 𝘿𝙤𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙮 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙍𝙚𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩: 𝙍𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙁𝙪𝙡𝙡 𝘾𝙞𝙧𝙘𝙡𝙚 at the Alaska State Museum. This exhibit showcases Dorothy Grant’s 40-year career in haute couture. Skil Da ‘Yuuwans Dorothy Grant (born in Hydaburg, Alaska) belongs to the Yahgw Janáas clan of the Haida Nation. An internationally renowned fashion designer, she is celebrated for her unique design and critical role in bringing Indigenous fashion to the world stage. 𝙍𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙁𝙪𝙡𝙡 𝘾𝙞𝙧𝙘𝙡𝙚 will be on exhibit at the Alaska State Museum through Oct. 17.

The Pottery Jungle: Christina Schulte-Pereyra, Ceramicist

Christina Schulte-Pereyra's 10-mug collection features mugs inspired by bears from past Fat Bear Week competitions, along with some of the bears that were in this year’s running. Each one is inspired by a real bear and their place in the wonderfully chubby world of Fat Bear Week.

Baranof Hotel: Captain Hoock & Lerina Winter - Questscapes

Questscapes founders Louis Hoock and Lerina Winter will show limited-edition treasure maps. Each map is paired with a poetry cipher and leads to real treasure hidden across the Pacific Northwest. Along the way, Hoock and Winter share stories of treasure hunts, remote coastlines, ocean crossings, and the remarkable places encountered during their ongoing voyage around the world aboard their expedition sailboat, S/V Arcturus.

Devil's Club Brewing Company: Aggie D'Cafango

Aggie D'Cafango is a Lingit and Unangax̂ artist who finds inspiration in the many colors of Southeast Alaska, the charm of things that are both sweet and strange, funky textures, and her deep love for community and connection. She will be showcasing a collection of mixed-media linocut, cyanotype and weaving titled "Under the Same Moon." The collection is inspired by childhood wonder, loss, sadness, joy, and connection, and the ability to make space for all feelings at the same time. During First Friday, D'Cafango will also show a collection of hand-printed customized thrifted clothing and handwoven earrings.

Devil's Club Brewing Company: Juneau Animal Rescue

Sales of New Leash on Life Hazy IPA will raise funds for JAR's Second Chance Fund, which helps furry friends in need of a service or treatment they otherwise wouldn't be able to get. An "adoptable art show" from Montessori Borealis classrooms will be hosted upstairs, and a kitten corner and second chance success stories will be shared downstairs.

Juneau Artists Gallery: Gallery-wide Juneau Appreciation Sale

The Juneau Artists Gallery will have its annual "Customer Appreciation Sale" from Oct 1-10. Everything in the gallery will be at least 15% off.

Liase Studio: Melissa Leeanne Lewis, multimedia artist

Melissa Leeanne Lewis will show new work, titled "Slowly, Slowly." The collection consists of slow art of the things you miss if you don't slow down. Her mixed media collages are made from years of old sketchbooks, prints, and accumulated materials, colored pencil, pastel, paints, and more.

The Bear's Lair: Tori Talley, Dena’ina artist, with “Home Sweet Juneau”
